Current rating standards 69-30 Part II

Sustained current ratings for paper-insulated cables with aluminium sheath/neutral conductor and three shaped solid aluminium phase conductors (CONSAC) to BS 5593:1978 (ac 50 Hz)

This report, which is part 2 of a series, provides current ratings for paper-insulated aluminium conductor CONSAC cables. Other parts cover paper-insulated, lead-sheathed cables. Ratings are given for cables installed direct in the ground, in underground ducts and in air.

Ratings have been calculated in accordance with the formulae recommended by the International Electrotechnical Commission where relevant, for other cases formulas have been taken from ERA reports. The temperature limits on which cable ratings are based have been adopted to conform to the British Standard.

This edition of part 2 has been published to coincide with the issue of BS 5593 so as to provide current ratings for the cable type described in the standard. Ratings are given for a single three-core cable.
